Re: New for 2013: Food's Own Season Pass!

Re: Caboose photo -Boom Town

It was caboose 2424. After some digging up at UTA, I found a ACJ photographer took a photo of the bathrooms during BT construction and caught the end of the caboose. The park painted over the car...

Re: Caboose photo -Boom Town

Thanks for looking and for the photo showing the end of the T&P "muley caboose".

I will probably find my note or the photo when I'm not looking for them. I must have everything you found with...

Re: Caboose photo -Boom Town

Thanks for looking. That is the caboose (from the Texas & Pacific). The picture I remember was from the other side. Still can't find it yet. Looked through Clint's DMN files without success.

Caboose photo -Boom Town

Would anyone out there have a photo of the standard gauge caboose that was on display at Boom Town 1963-1973? I think there was a PR photo or newspaper photo taken showing the car's road number on...

Re: Railroad Spiel - Calling All Conductors!

The spiel box appeared in the fall of '99 with a new park operator. Until that time, it was a separate crew like the park rides. The Station Master and Conductor positions would rotate each time...

Re: Grapevine train - working on steam at Texas State RR

Earl Knoob and his crew are in the process of overhauling all four steam locomotives.

And, they are using real paint schemes (black, olive green) instead of bright colors.

No 7 needed much...

Good to se ya back. 2248 was still in the shop last time I drove through town. Another FWWR guy, Earl Knoob, is now down at Texas State. They just finished 400 / aka 7 .

Re: Favorite bit of trivia/fun fact/obscure knowledge?

A son of Madame Patout's joined the Gold Rush of 1849 by boat, but got very sick and weak. He returned from San Francisco overland and vanished near Amarillo, Tx.

Both locomotive bells at sfot...

Re: 1970's Train Turning

My note is wrong. The trains were turned back to clockwise after 1988. I have pictures from that year and they were still counter clockwise.

Someone somewhere said '89.

I don't know if it...

Re: Wrong Name in Spiel

The “Gen Sam” was renamed with the completion of a major overhaul in June 1994. I don’t believe the new name really had much to do with the railroad.

Re: SF&T Herald Designs?

Re: Lamar (Patton) Paint Scheme

I don't think the very blue boiler jacket lasted long. I suspect it went to red in the late 70s?

I notice the domes have a dark color here in the 1980 yearbook:...

Re: Lamar (Patton) Paint Scheme

The LydiaP/Lamar/Patton had black domes 62-67 (1897-1967?) from what I can tell. The oldest dated photo I have with cream/tan on the domes was ‘70.

The Banana Splits show was apparently shot...
