Default New Texas Giant Train Model [RCT3]

Hey everyone. I play rollercoaster tycoon 3 and I make custom content for the game. Since I am a big amusement park and rollercoaster fanatic and I happen to live 10 mins away from SFOT, I happen to be a big SFOT fan.

Well, my new favorite ride is of course, the Newer Texas Giant. Considering I make custom content for RCT3, I decided I would design the cars and make a complete new custom track for it as well. Since this is a SFOT forum, I just wanted to share my work with you all. I hope you like it.

Modeled in sketchup and rendered in kerkythea. I started this model last summer and I am continuing to work on it. Trying to be as detailed as possible.

If you would like to see my other SFOT models I made for RCT3, I would be glad to show them. I am currently making the ACME Rockin Rocket flat ride (it is animated and fully functional). The rides I have released are the S&S Power Launched Freefall Towers which is what Superman is, I made the Runaway Mine Train Cars, A Steam Train that is based off of the one at SFOT, and I also made a Mr. Freeze custom scenery set. If you happen to play the game would like to use them in it, they are already released. You can PM me or just post here that you would like the download link.

Thank you for your time and I hope you like my work.

Awesome, thanks for doing that. Yes I would like to download your work. I play RCT3 too. How do you create your stuff and get it into RCT3?

Thanks. I am glad you like it.

Well using google sketchup, I can model anything I want. Then using an importer that someone made, I can import any model I make into the game. There are more complicated steps depending on how I want the model to be ingame, but that is basically overall how it is done.

Some of my work:

ACME Rockin Rocket

Here is a video of it animated. Still working on it right now.

Vekoma Boomerang (Flashback)

Just a little proof that I can make custom tracks for RCT3. Still tweaking it a bit. It is recolorable, but for my park that it is going in, the track will be yellow. I am currently the only one in the whole RCT3 community who has this right now.

That is just most of my Six Flags over Texas related stuff. I did make the trains that are on Titan, but im not happy with the model though. I may possibly go back and do it again.

If you would like to take a look at my other RCT3 stuff, I have a website.

Thumbs up Re: New Texas Giant Train Model [RCT3]

Very nice designs and welcome to the forums!

I moved your thread to here since we already have this section for "build your own" theme parks. AWESOME work!

wow... nice work.

I think I played RCT2, but that had to have been 10-12 years ago... I'm kind of surprised that there isn't a 4... or 5. Maybe one in development?

I may have to buy this game just so I can play with the Minetrain again.

The developer and designer, Chris Sawyer, got into some type of dispute with the publisher. There was some type of lawsuit and hard feelings and they split up. I've heard that the Thrillville, which I don't find very interesting, was actually developed as the next step.

It is sad, because if they had continued to develop, they could have had a very interesting park builder. Especially if they encouraged the development and incorporation of custom scenes and rides. RCT2 had a game pack to let you insert custom buildings. I don't know if it was "official" or not. RCT3 was a little more game like and less of a scale designer.

There was some work that has been discussed on this board for a open source or public domain park designer program. I think they tried to do too much with the initial release. In any case, it seems to have died as well.

Haha you can do that if you want. It's actually pretty cheap. And you can play with more SFOT stuff too than just the Mine Train.

I forgot to show you something else I made a couple years ago.

Also today on the RCT3 forums, I updated my New Texas Giant Trains.
