Due to the large number of emails I'm getting on 'what the hell is postmix?', I'm putting in my explanation.
Here's my explanation of what Postmix is... I'm sure I'll hear about it from Tony or Brad if I'm wrong. Ex Food and beverage people know about this. Post mix refers to the process by which soft drinks are mixed at the park and other fine venues. Out back there are tanks that provide the carbonation (CO2) and the coke, Dr. pepper, etc. syrup. The syrup and CO2 are piped into the food stand via clear plastic tubes. The water is carbonated in a small pump system somewhere along the tube and then the drinks are 'mixed' at the tap. There are little screws on the taps under the logo covers that control the mix...too syrupy, too carbo'ey (technical terms). Hence, you have post mixed drinks rather than pre-mix drinks (aka 2 liter bottles). There. That wasn't so bad now was it? You are now truely enlightened. Check out more at Tony Courtney's Post Mix Site. http://www.geocities.com/postmixx/ Last edited by sfotadmin; December 21st, 2004 at 08:14 PM. |
