Amy Bell

Seasons worked: 1990

Funny Story or happening:

One day we were working in the concert ticket booth, and Troy Aikman came up to the booth to pick up his concert tickets. I, being a girl and the fact that that was his first season with the Cowboys, had no clue as to who he was... I just flipped through the list of Will call tickets looking for his name, I asked the other girl who was working with me to look at her list, and we neither one saw his name on the list. I explained to him that we didn't have the tickets there that he would have to go to the front booth. As he was walking away, our manager walked in and saw him through he glass, and started jumping up and hollering ... "thatís Tory Aikman, that's Tory Aikman!!!" He turned around and looked at ME and gave me one of those "have you lost your ever lovin' mind or something??" looks. I was SO embarrassed, but I had to laugh after our manager informed us as to who he was...

Larry Gentry

Went by: Miss Larry Gentry (not!)

Seasons worked: 1976-1991

Funny Story or happening:

No funny stories in particular and so many details get lost with time. But even now, at the strangest times, some old memory from my Six Flags days plays like a movie in my brain and it warms my soul. I know I wasn't very good about keeping in touch with so many people, but they're in my heart and mind in ways I never would've guessed at the time. I hope each of you is having a happy life.

Natalie Doyle

Went by: Williamson

Seasons worked: 1983-1985

Funny Story or happening:

Working at Six Flags was an incredible experience with lots of memories that have stayed with me. The people in the rides department were like one big family and really cared for each other. The worst thing I remember would be the GIGANTIC cockroaches that I swear sprouted wings and could fly. To this day I am afraid of those things!

Email: Natalie Doyle

Areas of Park: Front Gate/Guest Relations

People to find: I can picture lots of people, but I'm afraid names are a little fuzzy. Would like to hear from anyone that remembers me!

Jody Scruggs

Went by: Jody Shelton

Seasons worked: 1963

Funny Story or happening:

I sold tickets at the front gate when they cost about $3.25 for adults. The most memorable person who bought a ticket from me was Jack Ruby. He gave me his card(The Carosel Club in Dallas when Candy Barr was a well known stripper there. I was a naive 18 year old girl and really got a kick out of it. Of course, he became famous beyond his local reputation about 4 months later. My friend, Vicki Jacks, worked in food service in the Mexican section of the park. I also enjoyed a guy in the clean-up crew named Gary Sanadjer(never could spell it right. His last name was pronounced Schnider. I've often wondered if he ended up in Viet Nam like so many of my generation.

Danny Lakey

Seasons worked: 1985-1992

Funny Story or happening:

I have wonderful memories from my years at the park and too many stories to tell. Most of which would probably ban my childern from working at the park if I told them here. But I do remember someone sticking a straw in the exposed crack of an officer from Astroworld that bragged once too often about how great they were. He didn't even know it was there. I think I came to tears over that one.

Kathy Black

Seasons worked: 1963-1964

Funny story or happening:

Hi from an old timer. I sold tickets at the front gate while attending Arlington High School in 1963 and 64. There are three things that I really remember...
  1. The day that we had to put out the "Closed" sign at the park entrance when John F. Kennedy was assasinated. It was a very sad and confusing day for all of us.
  2. A few weeks after installing a "panic" button under our cash drawers, a girl who shall be nameless just couldn't stand the curiosity and had to push it. Wow! All the gates closed and within minutes the whole area was swarming with cops. It was quite a show, and a very expensive one, too, for Six Flags and Arlignton.
  3. I'll never forget seeing my first movie stars and celebrities while selling tickets. My favorite was a very young Richard Chamberlin. Sigh...
