I'll keep my personal opinions about this to myself but will say that since all three of the big boys in Orlando started doing this all on the same day, with very little rumors/talk that is was starting, that you can almost guarantee that it was at the urging of a governmental agency of some sort (and most likely a Federal agency)...I mean it is possible that the execs of each respected park got together to discuss it and they decided that it'd be in there best interest to all start on the same day but given the rush set-up and lack of a real "plan" when it was rolled out leads me to believe the former.

I agree. This isn't the usual modus operandi of either of those three theme park "gorillas" (I'm actually surprised Six Flags and Valley Fair haven't put out similar announcements -- or maybe I've just not noticed yet. As I recall SF was pretty thourough anyway on my last visit a few years back). Major parks usually have their legal and PR folks to toss these plans together to at least look well-planned and professional. This just looks like a rush job that was thrown together.

I could be wrong but on our last visit a week ago for HIP, it seemed like their was a visible increase in uniformed security. I didn't think much of it until just reading this. Maybe they just increased without making an announcement?
