Default Six Flags Mall Tour

I was looking at the Urban Exploration Resource website (http://www.uer.ca) and found a post, with many pictures, about Six Flags Mall.

Andy (my Better Half) used to work there. He enjoyed looking at the pictures ("I remember that store" and "I used to park right there!") over my shoulder.

Thanks for sharing! Is it completely closed? It looks like maybe that Dillards is still up and running...

Tinseltown and the Dillards outlet are all that's left. I think the mall was supposed to be part of a big foreclosure sale a few months ago, but I never heard anything about whether or not it sold.

As already mentioned Tinseltown and Dillard's Outlet and a small handful of mom-&-pop shops are all that's left at Six Flags mall. I recommend walking through there sometime, its really eerie, in an apocalyptic sense. The real bright spot though is the cheap first run movies at Tinseltown. Matinees for $3 and the theater is clean and nice.

Still have that mildew-y smell I presume? it was my theater of choice for a long time, even after AMC at the Parks opened because it was cheaper...then I got tired of driving across town and the money I saved by buying food/drinks in the mall and taking them to AMC saved me money over going across town and the theaters were nicer so I stopped going there unless meeting someone or during the Christmas season

When Six Flags Mall was built it killed downtown shopping, Town North Center, Park Row Center(I think that was the name) and other shopping areas across Arlington. My favorite toy store, Motts 5 and dime even closed. Funny how things cycle. Now Arlington downtown is making a comeback and this place looks freeky scary.

You mean all the restaurants, businesses, and hotels outside the parks mall. You have the cowboys and rangers stadiums right next to each other. How does Arlington not have public transit bus system?

Because our city council is so obstinate and deluded that they think it will

A) cost more money than the revenue it generates and

2) it will bring gangs and other undesirables into town.

Guess what? A is completely false, and as for 2... THEY'RE ALREADY HERE!

I would LOVE to have mass transit in Arlington. I'd ride the bus or the train every day.
