I was talking about Jeremy Ross. The last time I saw him he was working in Looney Tunes Land.

Ross still comes in every now and then to run days off for the dispatch crew in Ops. He was wanting me to schedule him to do some snow blowing but I already have a ton of people, everyone wants to blow snow. I do wish though that we were still using his scheduling system for the park, it was alot easier than the one corporate makes us use now.

Hey, Merv, how is snow blowing done now? Still filling up boxes at the Ice House and putting them on flatbeds and shaking them out with a forklift?

I always wished that we could install an icemaker right at the hill and just run a rake bin chute straight into the snow blower. At least the drive is shorter now, eh?

Yea Stroop, we still fill up boxes and shake them with the forklift. The only difference now is that since the ice house is so close we shuttle the boxes back and forth with forklifts. We just go right down low water, it's alot easier than having to drive those big trucks. So now there's no more dropped boxes on Copeland. I got Draper on the crew this year, he said it sure is easier than when he was snow blowing before.

I believe that... seems like half the trouble was related to the flatbed. I imagine driving a forklift down the low water hill could be daunting to an inexperienced driver.

They are nervous the 1st. trip or two because they have to drive down low backwards, but soon get over their fear. Main thing you have to be sure of is you get the forks all the way under the box and take it slow, we have had a couple of people drop boxes. At least now though you don't have to worry about traffic behind you. More people are scared to rake because of the box being shaken over their head, I have alot more volunteers for forklifts than I do to rake.
