Default BREAKING! Woman Killed on Texas Giant!

Just coming in. The park has confirmed that a woman has been killed on Texas Giant. No other details known yet. Some are speculating, on Twitter, that the woman was missing when the train arrived back into the station. That's just speculation from what I heard.

There were some tweets made from people who were on the train in question. They say that she fell from the train. How it occurred is not known. The fact that she fell from the ride was confirmed by the police.

Man this feels like Rapids all over again. I know as a ride operator you always run the scenario through your head but you never expect to have to carry it out. I've forgotten the radio code now but when you hear it come across and for all radio traffic to stop. You get that lump in your throat. And anyone free with a radio bolts off to that incident.

Speculating, but a witness said the restraint opened after a drop. Not good.

That seems to be the case from what I'm reading. I feel terrible for the family as well as the ride operator. My prayers are with them.

It's really sad Do you think this will be the end of the Texas Giant?

Not a chance. They'll probably throw some additional seatbelts on the trains to appease lawyers, get a whole lot stricter about large people riding, and reopen it.

might be it for the rest of the season depending on the investigation, findings, and PR, but I agree w/ Brandon on the rest...this is an unfortunate and isolated accident but no reason to completely close the ride

I would be happy if they added seat belts.

I think the investigaton will be fairly quick (what happened was probably something similar to this). As for retrofitting the trains, that's probably what will take a while.
