Default Rush fans UNITE! May 18 2015

It's that time again Rush fans! They're coming to town in May! Got my tickets. My wife is a HUGE Rush fan, thanks to my exposure. It's her first. I hope to see you guys there!

I very seldom listen to Rush anymore but hope you have fun. I didn't know he was going on tour. Do Rush fans still call themselves "dittoheads"?

You've committed an act of treason confusing us music fans with the right wing blow hard. May Neil Peart forgive you!

I figured that would get a rise out of some folks! I've never seen them in concert (the band, I mean; for that matter, I've never seen Limbaugh in concert, either) but they are great. Have a fantastic time!

I got 8th row on Geddy's side.

I figured since this will probably be their last major tour, I'd go all out and get the best seats I could, no matter the cost.

Oh, I don't know. I didn't figure we'd still be seeing Mick and the boys or Roger and Pete 50 years down the road, either.

True, but Neil is at the point where he doesn't want to tour anymore. He doesn't want to be away from his young daughter and now playing drums causes him considerable pain, so large tours are probably not going to happen any more. There may be smaller mini-tours down the line, but this will be the last large scale one, and it's not even that large, less than 40 dates.

Geddy and Alex are still into writing and playing, but I doubt we'll see them replace Neil. They've taked about doing soundtracks/scores for movies, which would be pretty cool.

Ya know, about 20 years ago I thought it was a little disconcerting (see what I did there?) for a bunch of 50 year olds to be touring the country, playing rock and roll and acting like a bunch of teenagers or twenty-somethings. Now that I'm in my fifties, ummm, not so much.
