Default Olympics Show

The Malakoff News
June 23, 1983

As interest in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles continues to build, Six Flags Over Texas has introduced an elaborate multimedia show which races the history of the Olympics from its beginnings to ancient Greece to modern times.

The show titled "Spirit of the Olympics" is being presented by Olympic sponsors 7-Eleven and Coca-Cola in the theme park's Good Time Theater each evening during the summer months.

More than 4,500 individual images flash across the theater's three motion picture screens during the 22-minute show.

The rapid-fire presentation was made possible by computer technology. The show's producers used computers to synchronize 27 projectors. the result was three synchronized motion picture films which show pictures taken from 35mm slides, videotape, film, and computer animation.

"Spirit of Olympics" will be presented hourly each evening beginning at 6:30 pm.
